Introducing the Practice Lab
The Practice Lab is a clinical simulation environment built into the forum. It's not reading about billing. It's working through real scenarios and finding out where your reasoning breaks down before it costs you money.
The Billing Simulator presents a full clinical encounter: chart note, payer, diagnoses. You submit your codes, the system returns a realistic ERA -- payment, denial, downcode, or recoupment -- and you decide what to do next. Then you get a debrief that names the pattern, not just the answer.
Denial Drills work the same way but start mid-cycle. The claim already went out wrong. Figure out what happened and fix it.
The Billing Simulator and Denial Drills are live now. Paper Remittance, Chat Coder, MDM Foundations, Psychotherapy Documentation, and a free Sandbox mode are in development.
The Practice Lab is included in all active memberships. It is not available as a standalone product.
Coming 2026: ANCC-Accredited CEs + Quarterly Live Events.
Think Beyond Practice is more than a forum. It's the foundation of a complete professional development ecosystem.
Think Beyond Education — our ANCC-accredited CE division — is pending accreditation approval in September-October 2026. Once approved, CE+Forum members receive one accredited CE course per month, built directly from forum discussions and tied to real clinical, billing, and practice management challenges.
Year 1 CE Roadmap (15 courses, ~16-17 contact hours)
Courses launch October 2026 and release monthly through December 2027. Topics include:
Suicide prevention, assessment, and documentation
AI documentation tools and HIPAA compliance
Ethics and scope in psychiatric prescribing
Billing series: MDM vs time, documentation floors, denials and appeals
Clinical pharmacology: Spravato, EPS management, risk documentation
Cross-state telehealth and prescribing compliance
Retrospective risk adjustment requests
Prescribing judgment series: clinical reasoning, medication tradeoffs, decision-making under uncertainty
Includes pharmacotherapeutic contact hours applicable toward APRN renewal.
Quarterly Season Events
Four times a year, CE+Forum members get access to a live 60-minute interactive event tied to that quarter's CE theme. These are not webinars. They're working sessions: Q&A, case discussion, peer roundtables, and live clinical reasoning with Michael and your colleagues.
Billing Season: Real denials, coding dilemmas, live problem-solving
Clinical Season: Complex medication decisions, treatment-resistant cases
Systems Season: What's actually working in practice, what's not
Prescribing Season: When guidelines conflict, how you decide under uncertainty
Sessions are recorded and posted in the forum for members who can't attend live.
This is the only model that combines accredited CE, ongoing peer community, and live quarterly synthesis in one membership.
Most CE: Take course → pass test → done.
Think Beyond: CE gives you the framework. The forum gives you ongoing application. Seasons give you live synthesis with peers. Learning doesn't stop when you submit the post-test.

"It's a hub of real guidance, practical tips, and honest support. Every visit gives me something I can use immediately, and it's the only community that has made me feel less alone in this process."

The Insights section is a growing library of public essays that offer a window into the kind of clinical reasoning practiced and refined inside the Think Beyond Practice forum, across medication decisions, diagnostic uncertainty, billing judgment, and follow-up strategy.

After the Courses, Coaching Programs, and Templates… Now What?
You may already have:
a bootcamp or coaching program under your belt
weekly Zoom case calls that mostly stay at surface level
template libraries for intakes, med notes, and workflows
medication algorithms, cheat sheets, and reference guides
Those things can be useful but they only get you through the straightforward cases.
The real challenges in practice are:
when the patient doesn’t fit DSM criteria cleanly
when first line treatment fails and the path forward isn’t obvious
when comorbidity makes the “algorithm” break down
when documentation needs to withstand payer scrutiny
when ethical and clinical risk live in the gray zones
This forum isn’t another coaching program, certification course, or template package.
It is a professional space for developing clinical judgment. The part no program can hand you in advance.
One nineteen a month. Real cases. Real prescribers. Real problem solving.
🧭 How Mentorship Shows Up in Practice

You'll get to see how experienced clinicians think through complex decisions, refine your own process, and get feedback on real scenarios — all within a professional, grounded community.
It's not coaching. It's guided development for clinicians who want to think more clearly, document more effectively, and practice with confidence that holds up under scrutiny.
It's not about giving answers. It's about helping you build a framework for better ones.

“This is the only forum I’ve found that’s actually useful long term. Other communities felt basic, performative, or recycled. Here, the clinical info is thorough, the business and coding guidance is what nobody else teaches, and everything is organized, practical, and miles better than the hype forums. The mix of real-world charting, coding, practice-building, ketamine/spravato breakdowns, and ethics makes it useful whether you’re new or seasoned.”

🧭 Mentorship That Builds Clinical Judgment
Think Beyond Practice was built on the idea that good mentorship isn’t about giving answers. It’s about building judgment.
Inside the forum, mentorship happens in real time through structured case discussions, reasoning breakdowns, and workflow troubleshooting. You’ll see how experienced clinicians think through complex cases, and you’ll start to shape your own process in the same way — systematically, ethically, and with clinical precision.
This isn’t coaching. It’s guided development for clinicians who want to think more clearly, document more effectively, and practice with confidence that holds up under scrutiny.
